Behind the Scenes

Our Story

A Journey Toward Healing & Innovation

After years of chronic pain from a catastrophic ankle injury, Flow Mechanical founder Matt Cannon committed to a path of deep healing. Following his third and final ankle surgery in 2022, he explored every possible tool, modality, and technique to reclaim his mobility.

Discovering Fascia & A New Path Forward

In November 2022, Matt discovered fascial maneuvers through Human Garage. A spontaneous opportunity led him to their first in-person retreat in Mexico, where he experienced fascia-focused healing firsthand. The experience was transformational—he committed to training, teaching, and sharing this knowledge.

From Concept to Creation

A longtime product designer, Matt had already sketched concepts for fascial release tools. After returning home, he reconnected with his design and manufacturing partners, diving into prototype development. Over the next year, he personally crafted, cut, glued, and molded over 70 prototype tools, constantly refining the designs to enhance their impact.

Merging Science & Movement

To deepen his understanding, Matt earned a Fascial Fitness Trainer certification through the Fascial Fitness Academy, grounding his product development in scientific research. His goal: to create tools that support intuitive, fluid movement and help people connect with their bodies more deeply.

Introducing the Flow Band™

By Winter 2023, the Flow Band™ was finalized—a tool designed to support fascial health, mobility, and body awareness. Now in production, it stands as the first of many innovations from Flow Mechanical, a company dedicated to creating tools for movement, resilience, and thriving.

Founder Bio

While Founder Matthew Cannon is best known for his role of CGO at Music Tech company, "Jamstik", he is perhaps most experienced as a human being who's dealt with a lot of pain and sought novel ways to live into expression otherwise.

He is a certified coach with the Flow Genome Project, as well as a Fascial Maneuvers Coach with Human Garage. Most recently he received his Fascial Fitness Certification from the Fascia Training Academy & is currently studying Biomechanics with Conor Harris.

It's always been his dream to invent tools for physical rehabilitation, fitness, and healing for a future we can thrive in. Opening up and optimizing his own fascial structure has been integral to the formation of Flow Mechanical & stepping forward into his dreams of product design for wellness & rehabilitation.
